Delta Canard
This is delta with a canard. Overall it looks a cross between a Eurofighter and a Viggen ..
High alpha flight was desired, hence the canard has a fixed front plate set at 0% and a moving rear plate.. more like a tail plane with a elevator.. (pics speak better than words).. For pitch-up, the canard rear plate moves down and the elevons move up.. The canard is controlled by a separate servo (5 gms)
The wing platform is a delta with a KF2 profile. The leading edge of the wing is covered with newspaper which has been applied with diluted PVC glue . After shrinking it forms a nice , smooth and taunt surface , and also adds to the torsional rigidity. The wing has two 1mmX3mm CF strips glued to the top and bottom to acts as a spar (with the 6mm foam in between them)
The test flight showed tendency of sudden onset of tip stalls and dropping of a wing.. To delay this two wing fences were added to each wing ... also it had landed badly and damaged the motor mount (tail-strike) and the vertical surface ..
Motor is a C20 2020kv , with a 20 amps esc, 5x4 three baled prop (quad)..and a 1000mah (or any)
2 X 9gms servos for elevons and 1X5gm servo for canard. AUW 370 gms
Later on, Mod 2, .... 1) two wing stakes in each wing were added.2) A fixed rudder was added (did away with a moving rudder). 3) a wire tail skid 4) the servos were tucked in 5) paint job.... some expo and dr was dialed in the radio
Some pics of V2
The wing stakes clearly visible... the hole in the fuse it for air circulation for the ESC
Here is a flight video

Mod 3 : the moving canard was changed to a fixed canard
Its a agile and fast , with lots of pitch authority and flips in a dime and can also do great high alphas and has been flown in high winds (@ 20kmph gusts)... overall a great aircraft
